  • Project Manager / Technical Director

    The Project Manager / Technical Director reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and will be directly responsible for customer communications, project planning, and managing the technical aspects of the project. This role includes providing the leadership necessary to achieve the project objectives including safety, quality, financial, and customer satisfaction. Our compensation package, with bonuses, can exceed $200K and is not capped.

    Primary Functions:

    • Provide technical and commercial leadership while managing turbine generator maintenance projects for the power and cogeneration industries
    • Satisfy our customers through execution of outages in a cost-effective and timely manner
    • Manage and direct TGM employees and subcontractors on the jobsite
    • Participate as requested in technical sales visits
    • Conduct outage planning visits and provide required deliverables

    Requisites:
    A Technical Director should have a strong technical background in turbine generators and have demonstrated leadership and management abilities to manage major maintenance projects for steam and gas turbine generators up to 220MW in size on various OEM units. This person should have a reputation of completing high quality projects on-time with good customer satisfaction.

    Expectations:
    Part of employment at TGM is the unpredictability of the work. The position of Technical Director requires extensive travel by car and/or commercial airline with necessary overtime and weekend work.

    He should have a neat, well-groomed appearance that reflects the precise work that a customer expects from TGM. His attitude toward both co-workers and customers alike will be respectful and cooperative. The Technical Director should be dedicated to providing a safe and positive work environment. He will be responsible for expenditure of large sums of TGM and customers' funds.

    Customers have a high degree of loyalty to us because we respond immediately to their problems. This means that when you are called upon to respond to a customer, you are expected to do so.

  • Turbine Mechanic

    Our Turbine Mechanics make up the heart of the TGM Project Team. Many of our mechanics started with TGM, progressed up the ranks as they became more proficient, and advanced to Foreman and Technical Director status.

    If you have mechanical ability, leadership qualities, and personal drive, the opportunities for advancement are vast. TGM Turbine Mechanics are the most professional in the industry because they are valued employees. TGM offers the following benefit packages to its most loyal and highly skilled mechanics:

    Requisites:
    The Turbine Mechanic must have natural mechanical abilities and enjoy working in a team environment on large rotating equipment.

    Expectations:
    Because our customers are located throughout the Americas, our mechanics must not mind traveling.TGM personnel work hard, and they enjoy what they do. It is imperative that the TGM Turbine Mechanic have pride in his work and a respect for others and the equipment he uses. Although he is not responsible for communicating with the customer, he is in the customer’s facility and is constantly observed. Our Turbine Mechanics dress and act professionally—we supply shirts, hardhats, and safety equipment—and they treat the customer’s facility with respect.

  • Project Coordinator

    The Project Coordinator provides the logistical support for the project, from bringing together the initial project estimate to the hiring of the subcontractors. He is responsible for direct support of the Technical Director, home office, and the outage team during turbine generator outages, and he performs any tasks requested by the Technical Director.

    Primary Functions:

    • Sets up and coordinates local vendors 
    • Maintains time sheets, purchasing documentation, and employee records
    • Ensures that cost and task reports are prepared daily for the customer
    • Enters unit data as collected and formats that data for the final report
    • Supports project with supplies, special tooling, and equipment as needed

    Requisites:
    A Project Coordinator should have an outgoing personality with clear, concise communication skills. He should have a neat and professional appearance to establish and enhance good customer relations. He will need basic computer knowledge and the ability to prioritize and adjust priorities; he must be organized and be able to manage several tasks at once. A Project Coordinator must be versatile and be willing to travel and remain on location during temporary assignments for extended periods of time. A mechanical and business background is also advantageous.

    Expectations:
    An individual in this position must be motivated with self-initiative and a “can do” attitude. The Project Coordinator should be able to establish good rapport with the customer and the outage team members. The ability to impress the customer in appearance and organization is a must.

  • Foreman

    The Foreman contributes to the successful execution of contracts by leading a qualified and cohesive crew of mechanics. He is directly responsible for assigning work and monitoring the progress and quality of all work performed by TGM personnel and its subcontractors. He has direct contact with many of the customer’s employees and is, therefore, responsible for interacting with them in a way that projects the positive, professional image of TGM. The Foreman reports to the TGM Technical Director on each job.

    Requisites:
    The Foreman is experienced in working with a contractor as a Mechanic or Millwright, performing essentially the same work performed by TGM. He has a reputation of performing quality work in a timely manner and has strong leadership skills. Foremen have a cadre of good Turbine Mechanics and an exceptional customer service record.

    Expectations:
    Part of employment at TGM is the unpredictability of the project schedule. Foremen travel extensively either by car or commercial airline. Overtime and weekend work are necessary.

    The Foreman is neat and well-groomed—an appearance that reflects the precise work the customer expects from TGM. The Foreman works closely with the customers and, at all times, handles situations in a respectful and cooperative manner. This attitude is also present in dealing with co-workers. The TGM Foreman is dedicated to providing a safe and positive work environment.
