TGM has developed a series of planning processes--pre-outage, during the outage, and post-outage--in order to assure the success of your project. No matter what project you hire us for, planning is at the heart of everything we do.
Even before we arrive at your site, we have initiated a project-specific plan just for you. Your personal Regional Account Manager begins the planning process; only TGM provides this unique customer relationship support service, providing you with reliable and on-going contact throughout your outage and beyond. As we continue that planning, we also monitor the schedule to permit the most efficient execution and potential problem identification early on in the process.
Your specific unit, outage timeframe, and unique project conditions and objectives are all key to the customized plan we create for you. Not only do we anticipate your needs, we also create contingency plans and constantly strategize to ensure your project goes smoothly.

Our planning processes allow us to turn your project needs and objectives into a workable plan of action based on your unique unit conditions. We create an individualized plan for you . . . and we start that planning before our team arrives at your site for the unit walk-down.
The Critical Path Method schedule that we provide after our initial site visit allows us to monitor the project schedule so we can identify potential problem areas early on and plan for contingencies. Additionally, TGM develops a unit-specific lay down plan to provide efficient use of workspace and the assembly process. Finally, we assist in the parts and customer-supplied tools to assure that everything is available prior to the start of the outage.
By the time our team arrives on-site to execute your outage, we have already run through our strategies and work tasks to ensure your project will go smoothly. Our project-specific planning is rehearsal for the final outage performance.
TGM takes great pride in our tool sets; we feel they are the most comprehensive and best organized in the industry. We invest in our tooling to ensure our project team has the best tools for your outage.
Our typical tool set investment is over $300K per set, so that we have all the tools necessary to perform the project efficiently. Only special tools originally provided with the turbine and generator are supplied by our customers and, if a tool has been lost or destroyed, TGM can design and manufacture replacements.

A genuine and active focus on safety is at the core of TGM's attitude towards every project. TGM has world class TIRR and EMR rates and has created a true safety culture which continuously reinforces our commitment to the safety of our employees. That commitment comes first from our executive staff; every employee, from the Technical Directors, to Foremen, Project Coordinators, and Turbine Mechanics, is focused on safety.

Our Director of Safety is OSHA-trained and has thirty-plus years in the industrial and maintenance industry. He frequents every major outage and most minor outages onsite to ensure that we are in compliance with safety regulations.
Our Director of Safety works closely with and trains our teams, ensuring that the safety of all personnel and equipment is top priority. In the field, during an outage, our professional technical experts review safety precautions each day in anticipation of the day's scheduled tasks.
TGM’s safety program is continuous and includes “off outage” safety training certification programs (confined space, lifting and rigging, hazardous chemicals handling, etc.). Additionally, an online safety training program is offered and tracked for all employees. TGM implements a strict random drug testing policy, testing up to 10% of all employees on a routine basis. If an employee fails this drug screen, they will be immediately removed from duty, offered an opportunity for rehabilitation, or terminated from employment.
